Bumper and gooseneck trailers are often compared to each other as they can serve similar purposes.

    GOOSENECK OR BUMPER PULL

    1.  LOAD SIZE

Bumper pull trailers offer ease and convenience and they are used for smaller, sized load.

But the weight of the trailer is resting on the very back of the truck, which is less efficient than a gooseneck.

If you need to move large loads, you may need to take advantage of a gooseneck trailer.

One of the benefits of using a gooseneck trailer is weight distribution. When you place the load over the rear axle instead of on the bumper your truck does not need to work as hard to carry the weight of the trailer and its contents and this will lead  to:

    • better fuel efficiency,
    • less wear on your truck,
    • a smoother ride.
    • SHORT TRAVEL OR LONG ONE

Bumper pull trailers are a convenient option if you travel short distances and working in the city.

Gooseneck trailers are the best for your journey requires highway driving.

When travelling long distances with heavy loads, gooseneck trailers are the SAFER option.

Why? Because bumper pull trailers are attached only to the trailer hitch, it becomes difficult to recover from weight shifting around or if your vehicle begins to swerve.

Gooseneck trailers latch over the top of your vehicle’s rear axle, which helps transfer excess force to the ground.

This is a feature that helps you stay safe when moving at highway speeds and while on roads with lots of curves and turns.

    • THE TYPE OF MATERIALS WHICH YOU HAUL

It plays an important role in which type of trailer is best for you.

Bumper pull trailers are great for small loads that aren’t too heavy and If you consistently transport the same types of items.

Gooseneck trailers are a more versatile option if the contents of your cargo can change and these trailers make it easy for you to transport awkwardly shaped loads.

    • KIND OF TRUCK WHICH YOU HAVE

Bumper pull trailer are vehicle compatibility and they are connected to the trailer hitch and are easily towed by any truck with the appropriate towing capacity.

Gooseneck trailers are attached directly to the truck bed and you:

    •  lose the use of your box or bed
    • need a truck that can handle a gooseneck (usually, you are looking at a ¾ or 1 ton) and also has a built-in gooseneck hitch.
    •  PARKING AND MANEUVERS

Bumper pull trailers have a shorter overall length than goosenecks. they are also compatible with a lot more vehicles.

Gooseneck trailers can only fit on certain types of vehicles therefore it makes your trailer significantly more difficult for people to steal.

A gooseneck trailer is much easier to maneuver for an experienced driver than a bumper pull.

It is easier to see where the trailer is going with a gooseneck. The turning radius of gooseneck is the bigger advantage – with a gooseneck, you can safely have your trailer at a 90 degree angle to your truck.
